Weekly Featured Theme: The Solar System - The Planets

What are we learning?

Dear Sapitos Parents,

This week the children will be learning about the universe through play. We will talk about the planets, earth,astronauts and skyrockets. We have also scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us strengthen motor and cognitive-sensory skills and one of them is a reading/story project on Friday, June 3rd. For this project, we would appreciate your support at home by sitting with your child one of these nights and observe the sky and write about the experience on a paper. Then we will share the story with the classroom on Friday.

Friendly Reminders

• Check your child’s cubby every Monday and make sure to bring extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather.
• Take your child’s blanket home on Friday for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
• Bring diapers, wipes and diaper rash ointment/cream on Monday and make sure to label them with your child’s name.
• Do not bring your child toys to the classroom since they can break or get lost.

Memorial Day on Monday, May 30th. School will be closed.

Weekly Featured Theme: Insects

What are we learning?

Dear Sapitos Parents,

This week the children will be learning about insects through play. We have scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us strengthen motor and cognitive-sensory skills such as:

●        Make a collage of the habitat of the insects using leaves.

●        Create insect figures and paint them.

Friendly Reminders

●        Check your child’s cubby every Monday and make sure to bring extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather as well as extra diapers, wipes and diaper rash ointment/cream.

●     Sunscreen is important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn. Yet applying sunscreen to your child requires planning. If sunscreen must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and label the sunscreen bottle with your child's name.

Theme of the Week: “The pets"

During this week we will continue learning about the animal kingdom, particularly about wild animals, domestic animals and animals in extinction. Children will be taught to take care of animals and understand the benefits of domestic animals as companions.

We have also planned fun learning activities that will allow the children to appreciate nature.
