Week 26: Knowing the Plants

“Conociendo las plantas  –  Knowing the plants“
Hello Dear Parents!
My goal is for children to increase their knowledge about different types of plants and their characteristics. We will learn how to take care of them, to protect the environment, and that there are many different types of plants. All of this will be done while expanding our knowledge and vocabulary in Spanish.
Song of the week: “CANCION DE LAS PLANTAS.”
Un día en el parque jugando estaba
Con mis amigos de Sff,
Mire hacia el suelo, vi algo pequeño
La semillita yo vi pasar
Yo la tome con mucho cuidado
Y en una taza con amor la sembré,
Con tierra y agua creció mi plantita
Y muchas flores yo vi nacer.
Cuida tú alrededor,
A las plantitas respeta,
Por un mundo mejor cuida la naturaleza

Hello Dear Parents!
My goal is for the children to increase their knowledge about the different species of existing insects and their characteristics, habitat, and behaviors while expanding their vocabulary about insects in Spanish.

Mi abuelita tiene, una granja bella
Con animalitos y flores muy bellas,
Ahora este jueguito de imitar sonidos
Tú lo haces primero y luego tu amiguito (x2)
El perrito ladra (sonido)
El gato maulla (sonido)
El gallito canta (sonido)
La vaca estornuda (sonido)
El conejo salta
El caballo trota
Y los pajaritos la canción entonan(x2)

Un elefante no es elegante
No usa sombrero
Corbata ni guantes
La trompa muy larga
La panza gigante
Las patas muy gruesas
Y las orejas  muy grandes.

Me gusta saltar

Y también croar
El sapo.

Week 23: Wild Animals

“Knowing the animals” – “Conociendo los animales”
Hello Dear Parents!
This week we will continue discussing animals with a focus on those that live in the jungle. We will explore their characteristics and habitat as well as discuss why they can’t live on farms or in homes.
Song of the week: “CANCION ANIMALES DE LA SELVA”
Los animales que hay en la selva,
Tú los vas repetir,
Algunos gordos otros muy altos
Igual nos vamos a divertir.
El elefante que está muy grande
Y la jirafa que alta es

Special Request
Please bring your child’s favorite stuffed jungle animal to class with them so that we can discuss this animal in class.  Please all bring in any unused egg cartons, small boxes, or bottle tops over next few weeks. These make great art supplies! I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Homework
Cut out images of jungle animals from magazines or newspapers and paste them on your sheet.
Draw a circle around the jungle animals.
